Easter Baskets

Easter is not only a time to celebrate new life but it is also a time of renewal and a dawn of a new season. Children all around the world have come to know and love the Easter bunny. A tradition has developed that on the night before Easter, the Easter bunny comes and showers children with gifts placed in their Easter baskets.

Since all of my cousins range from ages 2-7, I thought of making them each their own easter baskets. Since Easter is in the spring and my family usually celebrates by being outside I thought of giving the kids baskets that will entertain them while playing outside.

For the girls baskets I put things in there such as easter egg decorating kits, sidewalk chalk, and jumpropes. To incorporate the Easter theme, I put a soft furry stuffed animal of an Easter bunny along with some chocolate easter eggs and candy.

For the boys I created an outdoor basket that includes items such as water guns, sports balls, and sidewalk chalk, as well as the traditional easter candy and eggs.

When creating gift baskets, be creative and don't worry about sticking to one theme! Incorporating different themes is what makes your basket unqiue and fun!

  1. Great ideas! Although many may feel that Easter is a much-neglected Holiday that dwarfs in popularly compared to Christmas or even Halloween, I feel your ideas may bring a much needed boast of interest in the Easter Holiday, especially amongst families.
